    Swim Coach Biographies

    Coach Dick Fadgen
    Coach Richard Fadgen
Coach Dick Fadgen had a great career as a swimmer.  Some high points came when he won 7 national championships, broke two world records, swam in the Pan-American games, and was the NCAA National Champion in 1955 for the 200 Butterfly and the 200 Breaststroke.  He began coaching in North Carolina, after which he founded the Memphis swim club (now Memphis Tigers).  While at Memphis, he coached three Olympians, many National Champions, and over 90 National qualifiers.  He came to BXST in 2006, retired from full-time coaching, but still active in the sport.  He loves Italian food, good country music, and funny quotes.

    Assistant Coach Amanda Galbraith
    Amanda Galbraith
Coach Amanda Galbraith has been swimming before she knew how to walk and has been an assistant coach for Bartlett Xtreme Swimming since 2003.  She loves teaching new swimmers and making experienced swimmers swim faster and longer than they ever thought possible.  Galbraith teaches Visual Art for Shelby County Schools.  She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Memphis College of Art; and a Masters of Education and Education Specialist degree from Union University.  She also coaches the Memphis Home Education Association High School and Middle School Swim Teams.  Galbraith can also be spotted competing in races including 5K runs, half-marathons, and adventure races.
