This year's event was a huge success. Over 300 children were fishing at Appling Lake this year. The lake is now open for any one to fish, but remember if you are 13 and older you will need a fishing license.  We will be calling the winners of door prizes who left before the drawings. See below for this year's winners.  

 

Children’s Fishing Rodeo & Youth Villages Family Fun Fest

Fishing Rodeo, 6:00-9:00 a.m.

Family Fun Fest, 7:00-11:00 a.m.

 

Do your children like to fish? The City of Bartlett is once again hosting the Children’s Fishing Rodeo for ages 12 and under at Appling Lake in the Bobby K. Flaherty Municipal Center located at Hwy 70 & Appling Road in Bartlett. This is a great way to kick-off your 4^th of July Celebration. There will be prizes awarded in three age categories; 6 and under, 7-9 and 10-12 with one overall Grand Prize Winner. So bring your fishing pole and get ready to catch a lot of fish! This is a FREE event but you must register before fishing. You can pre-register from June 24 (Tuesday)-26 (Thursday) at Gator Brown’s Bait & Tackle located at 6816 Hwy 70 in Bartlett, or at the event the day of the rodeo. 

      

 “Youth Villages Family Fun Fest"  Take a break from fishing and join us at the Youth Villages tent between 7:00-11:00 a.m. for carnival games, inflatables, balloons, a magician, and a special casting competition.
