Grants Property and business owners are encouraged to follow the Design Guidelines when considering updating their buildings. An incentive is provided through a grant program from the Bartlett Station Commission that will fund up to 50% of design and construction expenses, to a grant limit tentatively set at $35,000 per project, based on the extent to which the design is in compliance with the principles of the Guidelines. The Commission initially has made $250,000 available for grants, on a first-come-first-served basis. (The grant supports exterior changes to improve the appearance of a building—not repair, maintenance, or interior changes.) Initially, grants will be made for work in the following areas of Bartlett Station: Boundaries on the North side of Stage Road are from Sycamore View on the East through Shelby Street (extended to Old Brownsville Road) on the West and on the South side of Stage Road from Harrington Creek on the East (extended through Mr. Quick Tune at 5941 Stage Rd.) then West to Shelby Street. Bartlett Road South from Stage Road to Bartlett Boulevard, and Shelby Street from Stage Road to Ferguson Road. Ferguson Road is not included. The first step in applying for a grant is to submit a Threshold Application.
