Chief Inspector Chris Golden is a long-term resident of Bartlett and he began his career with the department in 2004. During his tenure, he has held a variety of positions across many divisions within the department. These positions include that of working as a Detention Officer, a Patrol Officer, a Field Training Officer, as well as an assignment within the Crime Suppression Unit.
In 2010, he was promoted to the rank of Detective where he served in the Narcotics Unit, and the Investigative Services Division. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2013 where he proceeded to lead members of the Patrol Division, the Crime Suppression Unit, the Field Training Officer Program, as well as the Patrol Crime Scene Technicians. In 2018, he was promoted to the rank of Captain where he served as the Communications and Jail Administrator.
In January of 2019, Mayor A. Keith McDonald appointed him as the Chief Inspector of the Investigative Services Division. Inspector Golden is a graduate of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Leadership Academy and holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Waldorf University.
