Cop's Corner with Captain Cupp

Captain David G. Cupp

Captain Cupp is the daytime shift commander for the Bartlett Police Department. Each week Captain Cupp will provide citizens of Bartlett with information useful to Bartlett residents concerning traffic and public safety and little known facts about the Bartlett Police Department.

This week's topic:
Intersection Crashes

One of the most hazardous crashes to work for a Police Officer is accidents inside an intersection. Due to the high traffic volume and limited visibility this is a dangerous situation for the Officer and also the motorist. Be extremely cautious inside these intersections and look for the officer and obey his commands.

Did you know there are two things you can’t do when approaching an intersection? You are not to increase your speed nor are you to change lanes. How many times have you see someone speed up as to beat the red light? Please be careful.

Any Traffic Questions or Concerns feel free to contact me at my email address.
