Cop's Corner with Captain Cupp

Captain David G. Cupp

Captain Cupp is the daytime shift commander for the Bartlett Police Department. Each week Captain Cupp will provide citizens of Bartlett with information useful to Bartlett residents concerning traffic and public safety and little known facts about the Bartlett Police Department.

This week's topic:
Receiving Citations

There may come a time when you are stopped by the Police for a Traffic Charge and receive a citation. After the citation is explained to you by the Officer you will be asked to sign the citation. You Must Sign the citation when asked. Refusal to do so will result in your immediate arrest. Signing the citation does not mean that you agree with the charges against you it just states that you have received a copy of the charges and that you agree to appear in court on the specified date.  Failure to appear in court on that date will result in an additional charge against you.

Any Traffic Questions or Concerns feel free to contact me at my email address.
