Crime Report

Week of 09/29/08



On 9/26/08 officers responded to the 2900 block of Bartlett Crest Dr. where a citizen turned into the police department a Raven Arms .25cal pistol that they longer wanted.  The pistol was checked through NCIC and came back clear.



On 9/26/08 a complainant reported that a juvenile told her daughter at the bus stop located at Luther & Egypt Central that he was going to make a bomb and throw it through her bedroom window.



On 9/26/08 officers responded to the 3900 block of Luther where the complainant advised he/she lost a wallet containing various personal documents.  The complainant later found that several fraudulent transactions occurred at his/her bank.



On 9/26/08 officers responded to 3730 Appling Rd on a run away juvenile who later returned home.



On 9/26/08 victim/complainant advised he/she was receiving harassing phone calls from a male who is his/her daughter’s ex-boyfriend.



On 9/26/08 officers responded to the Kroger located at 7615 Highway 70 regarding a suspicious circumstance complaint where a complainant advised a unidentified M/B occupying a dark color small 4 door sedan threatened to take his/her vehicle.  Officers checked the area and were unable to locate a person of vehicle matching that description.  The complainant could not provide a license plate number.



On 9/26/08 victim/complainant advised he/she was a victim of an assault that occurred at the Bartlett High School Football stadium.  The victim/complainant could not identify the suspect responsible.  The victim sustained minor injuries from the assault.



On 9/27/08 officers responded to a disturbance to the 8800 block of Bristol Park Cir. where victims/complainants alleges that the suspect became verbally abusive and threatening towards them.  One of the victims advised they had recently ended a relationship with the suspect.



On 9/27/08 officers responded to a disturbance call at the Bartlett Animal Shelter located at 5220 Shelter Run Lane regarding two individuals creating a disturbance over wanting to retrieve a animal that had been taken into custody by animal control officers due to neighbor complaints.  The animal was turned over to the two parties and both were issued criminal trespass warnings to not be on the Animal Shelter property.



On 9/27/08 officer(s) were flagged down by the complainant who advised he/she was moving out of state and no longer wanted a Clerke .22cal revolver.  Officer(s) checked the handgun and it was clear through NCIC and placed into the property & evidence room.



Victim/complainant alleges he/she is being harassed by his/her ex-spouse who was just recently released from a correctional institution due to be convicted for stalking the victim.  Scene officers listened to a voice mail allegedly from the suspect where the victim was threatened.  Victim/complainant also believes he/she has been followed by the suspect while in traffic.



On 9/27/08 officers responded to a disturbance at the Friendly Quick Stop located at 5510 Stage Rd where a customer was refused service due to not wearing a shirt and not having identification to purchase cigarettes.  The customer left the scene and returned with identification but was still refused service because he was not wearing a shirt.  A verbal argument ensued between the store owner and customer who each allege the other threatened them.  The customer was issued a criminal trespass warning by scene officers.



Victim/complainant advised on 9/27/08 unknown suspect(s) stole a Torro lawn mower from an enclosed garage in the 6300 block of Forked River Cv. West.  There were no witnesses, no suspect vehicle information, and no identifiable suspects.



On 9/27/08 officers responded to the 3500 block of Sunrise LN where the victim/complainant alleges he/she received a threatening phone call from an unknown suspect(s).



On 9/27/08 officers responded to the 8900 block of Bristol Park DR. in regards to a disturbance between an ex-boy/girlfriend where each allege they were assaulted by the other.  Scene officers could not determine a primary aggressor. 


On 9/27/08 officers responded to a disturbance in the 7900 block of Steven Franklin between a mother and daughter.  Both parties were separated for the night.



On 9/28/08 officers responded to a injured party/assault victim in the 4100 block of Catalpa Hill were the victim was punched in the face and knocked unconscious by a known suspect who fled the scene after the assault.  The victim was transported to Baptist East Hospital by the Bartlett Fire Department for a laceration to the back of the head.



On 9/28/08 officers responded to a disturbance in the 2600 block of Tickle where the complainant alleged he/she was assaulted by a step-parent after arguing with his/her biological parent.  Scene officers could not determine a primary aggressor.  All parties were separated and the complainant left the residence to stay with a friend.



On 9/28/08 officers responded to an attempt suicide/overdose in the 3800 block of Oak Rd



On 9/28/08 officers responded to a disturbance in the 6400 block of Blenheim where during an argument between parents and a son/daughter where a door was punched.   



On 09/28/08 a bike was stolen in area of Stembridge St & Stembridge Dr. and recovered at 8015 Stembridge in the possession of a M/B identified as a “Mario” who later fled the scene.   



On 9/29/08 officers responded to Charter Lakeside Hospital located at 2929 Brunswick Rd in regards to a psychiatric patient who threatened to kill their spouse.  The patient was admitted to the hospital for psychiatric issues.



On 9/29/08 the victim/complainant arrived at BPD headquarters initially reporting that he/she was a victim of a domestic assault by her spouse at their residence located in the 3400 block of Sara Woods.  While being interviewed the victim recanted the allegation, refused to cooperate or provide a statement, and left police headquarters.



On 9/29/08 an aggravated burglary occurred in the 4300 block of Fisk Ridge Cv. where the victim/complainant awoke to find that two M/B’s gained entry into the residence by kicking in a door in and were attempting to steal a television.  The M/B’s fled the scene in a red or maroon SUV displaying a Tennessee Temporary Tag with the expiration of 10/24/08.


A victim/complainant advised he/she lost their wallet on Friday 9/26/08 at an area bank located in the 6100 block of Stage Rd that contained personal documents that included two visa cards that were later used in a fraudulent transaction at Bailey’s Casino located in Tunica Mississippi.



A victim/complainant reported the theft of a game play station, laptop computer, and personal clothing were stolen from his/her residence located in the 3000 block of French Broad.  There are no witnesses or suspects.



On 9/29/08 officers responded to a disturbance/fight taking place at 2536 Flowering Tree Cv where two cousins were involved in a fight over a dispute of damaged/missing property.

On 9/29/08 the victim/complainant’s bowling ball was stolen from the Bartlett Lanes located at 6276 Stage rd.  The theft was captured on video and a suspect has been identified.



A complainant reported that his child was a victim of an assault that occurred at Appling Middle School by a fellow student.  The victim sustained minor injuries to the face.  The responsible student has been suspended from school due to the assault.



On 9/29/08 the victim/complainant reported a red Craftsman lawn mower was stolen from his residence located in the 7200 block of Lemesa between the dates of 9/26/08 and 9/28/08.



On 9/29/08 a juvenile ran away from Memphis Youth Villages located at 7410 Memphis-Arlington and returned during the early morning hours of 9/30/08.



Officers spoke with the victim in the 6000 block of Memphis Arlington who advised that his 42’ Westinghouse TV was missing.  It was last seen at 0830 on the morning of 9/30/08.  He suspects that his son took the TV to support his drug habit.



On 9/30/08 a theft was reported at Dollar Tree, 6035 Stage Road by the manager.  He advised that someone entered the store by the way of the rear emergency door and went to the safe and stole $ 3176.43 in cash.  The manager that worked the night before did not show up for work and is not answering his phone calls.  There were other managers that had access to the safe.



An aggravated burglary was reported on Northstar by the victim.  She advised that someone had broken into her house but nothing appeared to be missing.  The door was damaged due to a knife being used to pry the door open. 



A fraud was reported by the victim when she was notified by her bank of suspicious activity.  Several charges have been made on her account without her knowledge.



An auto burglary was reported in the 7500 block of Bartlett Corporate Drive by the victim.  He advised that he parked his work van in the rear of the building and was helping another employee.  When he returned his TomTom GPS unit was missing from his unlocked work van.



Several cars were vandalized at the Senior Center located at 5737 Woodlawn sometime during the evening hours between 1930 hours and 2130 hours.  Someone had “keyed” several vehicles and the damage is approx $165 each.



The victim/complainant advised they are being harassed by his/her boy/girlfriend’s ex-spouse who allegedly left a spray painted sign at her residence located in the 6400 block of Eagle Valley Cv.

The victim advised that his unknown suspect’s broke into a locked storage building at his residence located in the 6500 block of Fiske Rd and stole a Craftsman lawn mower valued at $2500 a Craftsman gas blower valued at $89.00, a wheelbarrow valued at $10.00 and a wood gym set valued at $2500.  A witness who lives in the 6500 block of Fiske Rd saw a M/B described as being 30-35 years of age, 5’10” to 6’, thin build wearing a white t-shirt and tan shorts and a F/B described as having braided hair and wearing blue jeans and black t-shirt occupying a late model Chevy pickup pulling a trailer leave the victim’s residence with these items on the trailer.



On 10/01/08 officers responded to a theft complaint in the 3200 block of Teaberry Ln. where victim/complainant alleges their grandchild stole a Coleman generator valued at $450, a Toro chain saw valued at $120, and power washer valued at $160.



On 10/01/08 officers responded to a disturbance in the 3000 block of Ruffle Dr. where complainant wanted his daughter’s boyfriend to leave his residence.  The boyfriend was allowed to collect some belongings and was issued a criminal trespass warning.



On 10/01/08 an auto burglary occurred at the Tennessee National Guard office located at 6822 Stage Rd where a National Guard vehicle was broken into and a XM radio was stolen.  The complainant advised a older model green conversion van was seen in the area prior to the burglary.
