Crime Report

Week 10/06/08



A domestic assault was reported by the victim in the area of 8300 Bon Lin.  He advised that his girlfriend accused him of starting at another girl and a verbal argument turned physical.  He stated that she slapped in 12 times in the face and then broke away from him and threw a beer bottle at him and missed.  She was gone when officers arrived.  Officers did observe bruising and swelling around his face.



An aggravated robbery was reported after the complainant noticed that someone had made withdrawals to her checking account in the amount of $301.75.  She called her son to ask if he had done it and he said no.  Later in the day, Matt’s friend stated that he had done it when he was robbed the night before.  She said that he had snuck out of their house to meet a girl and was robbed by a M/B with a gun.  He said that he did not have enough money so he went back into the house and got the victim’s credit card.  He went to Walmart market withdrew some money.  He said that he was too scared to report it.       



A theft was reported at Kroger, 5995 Stage Road, by an employee.  He advised that he witnessed 1 M/H and 2 F/W steal a potted plant worth $24.99.  The left the scene in a four door Cadillac.



A harassment report was filed by the complainant for her daughter.  She advised that her daughter was walking home from school towards their address on Rabbit Chase and a white truck with tinted windows began yelling vulgar things at her.  The vehicle was  occupied by 2 M/W. 



A fraud was reported by the victim who stated that someone had used his new Discover credit card without his consent. He said it was on the counter at his residence and now it was missing.  His roommate is a suspect.



A theft of a license plate was reported at HQ.  The victim had no idea where the tag might have been taken.  Tag was entered NCIC.



A fraud was reported at HQ by the victim.  He advised that someone was using his debit card and his PIN # in Missouri to make several purchases without his consent.  Total amount of the purchases is $1186.73.



A theft was reported on Stage Road by the victim.  She advised that someone had taken her son’s PSP from his bedroom windowsill.  The window was locked when they left and when they returned a while later it was shut but unlocked and the game system was gone. 



A theft of a license plate was reported at 8500 Hwy 64 by the victim.  She advised she had no idea when her license plate might have been taken.  Tag  was entered NCIC#.



A vandalism was reported by the victim of the 6100 block of  Elmore.  She advised that someone damaged a wooden post and a small section of fence along the driveway.  A “Saturn” emblem and several small pieces of grey or silver pieces of a vehicle were located.  No witnesses or suspects.



A suspicious circumstances report was filed by the victim.  She advised that she was walking across the parking lot near the Dollar Tree when a red truck started coming at her.  The male white driver started yelling obscenities at her about being a terrorist.  Witnesses verified the story but no one was able to get a tag to the truck. 



A theft of a license plate was reported by the victim at the Longhorn Steakhouse.  License plate was entered NCIC.



A domestic complaint was reported at on Robin Hop by the victim who stated that her husband had slapped her across the face.  She said that they were arguing and he slapped her with the back of his hand across the mouth.   No marks were observed.



The victim/complainant believes their wallet was stolen at the Wal-Mart located at 8400 Highway 64 by a M/B he/she was helping get an item from a store shelf.  The victim advised the wallet contained $100 in cash plus personal documents.



On 10/5/08 at approximately 1424hrs officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 3729 Lauren where victim/complainant stated her ex-spouse of 11 years broke into his/her residence by prying open an exterior window and threatening him/her with a knife.  The victim told the suspect to leave the residence where he/she allegedly threatened to kill him/her.  The suspect gathered some belongings at the residence and left the scene in a white Chevy Silverado pick up truck.



A domestic disturbance was reported on Autumn Glen Cove by the victim.  He advised that he and his wife were in a verbal disagreement when she stated throwing things at his car.  She threw a scooter at the car causing the windshield to shatter.  Officers spoke with her and observed her to be highly intoxicated.  No physical assault occurred.  They are currently still married but divorcing.



Natural death



The complainant alleges he/she is being harassed by the suspect who used to date his/hers child’s parent.  Scene officers spoke to all parties involved and all agreed to avoid each other.



The victim/complainant found two fraudulent transactions had taken place against her Memphis Area Teachers Credit Union bank account. There are no suspects and the victim was refunded the lost money by the bank.



On 10/6/08 officers responded to the 8900 block of Bristol Park in the Legends of Wolfchase apartment complex where the complainant alleged their spouse has been abusing the family pet.  On scene investigation found no evidence of abuse to the family pet.  The complainant has been diagnosed as being bi-polar and has made similar unfounded allegations against the spouse in the past.



A theft of a stock GMC pick-up truck rim with a Ameritrac General Tire (p245/70/R17) was reported stolen from a 2008 GMC truck that was on the lot of Sunrise Pontiac located at 8500 Highway 64.



The youth minister at Decatur Trinity Church located at 2449 Altruria found a orange Mongoose bike on the lot.  The bike was taken by scene officers and placed on the impound lot.



The manager of Star Bucks Coffee shop located at 7610 Highway 70 reported that unknown suspects vandalized an outdoor patio table by burning a hole in the center of it



On 10/06/08 officers flagged down at Kirby-Whitten & Yale Rd by the complainant regarding a criminal trespassing complaint at his/her residence located in the 3900 block of Robin Hill Dr. where the suspect was at her residence possibly abusing drugs with his/her son/daughter.  Scene officers located the suspect in the 3900 block Robin Hill Dr. and issued a criminal trespass warning.



On 10/06/08 officers responded to the Schnucks located at 2942 Kirby-Whitten regarding a M/W who attempted to shoplift merchandise from the store.  Prior to arrival of officers Schnucks management attempted to detain the M/W who left the scene in a small green sports car bearing AR license plate 632NGS.



The complainant reported that they lost their Department of Treasury identification badge approximately six months ago.



The complainant recovered a NEXT brand bike on the riding trails at Stinky Creek Park located at Yale & Memphis-Arlington.  The bike was placed on the BPD impound lot.



The victim/complainant advised that unknown suspects obtained his/her Memphis Area Teachers Credit Union bank account number and made a fraudulent transaction in Indianapolis IN.



The victim/complainant advised unknown person stole personal belongings from his/her backpack at Bartlett High School located at 5688 Woodlawn.



On 10/06/08 officers responded to a disturbance in the 3700 block of Russell Hurst where the suspect allegedly attempted to gain entry into the residence which belongs to his ex-spouse.  Scene officers advised the suspect he had to leave the property.



The complainant alleged that her purse was damaged during a traffic stop where police searched her vehicle at Stage & Sycamore View.  The complainant could not remember the officers names and did not want to file a formal complaint but wanted a report on file.



The victim/complainant advised that on 10/05/08 between 1330-1735 unknown suspects gained entry into her Mitsubishi Montero that was parked at 2828 Stage Rd and stole her purse which contained personal items to include her mother, Rita Martin, Sam’s club card and a Wal-Mart credit card.


The victim/complainant who resided in the 6100 block of Bending River advised on 9/27/08 a M/B arrived at her residence soliciting and she purchased $25.00 worth of merchandise from him paying with a check.  The victim advised the M/B left the scene in a light colored older sedan.  On 10/7/08 the victim was contacted by bank officials who informed that an individual had used the checking account and routing number to pay a Capital One credit card balance.  The suspect has been identified and the case is under investigation.



On 10/17/08 the victim/complainant who was working at Dryve Cleaners located at 3051 Kirby-Whitten advised that a heavy set F/B and Tall M/B entered the store wanting to pick up a dry cleaning order.  As the victim was looking for the order the F/B and M/B stole the victim’s purse which contained personal documents, a small amount of cash, credit cards and a hamerless stainless steel SMITH & WESSON .38cal REVOLVER fitted with a LASER SIGHT.  The victim advised the F/B and M/B arrived and left the scene in a silver four door sedan.  One of the victim’s credit cards was later used at a Target store in Memphis.  The firearm was entered into NCIC as stolen.



Between 10/03/08-10/07/08 unknown suspects threw bricks through a window of a Lennox Home under construction at 8263 Windersville.  This is the second act of vandalism at this particular residence.



The victim/complainant advised unknown suspects obtained their Sears credit card number and made fraudulent transactions in the states of Alabama and Mississippi.



On 10/07/08 officers responded to a domestic disturbance between two sisters in the 6000 block of Scottscraig Cv. due to one of the sisters having friends at the residence that they did not approve of.  During the domestic disturbance it was alleged that one of the sisters sprayed the other in the face with some type of chemical and brandished a knife threatening to kill the other.  When officers arrived on the scene the sister alleged to have sprayed the chemical and brandished the knife had left the scene.  On 10/9/08 warrant issued for the suspect’s arrest for Aggravated Domestic Assault



The victim/complainant advised that on 10/07/08 unknown suspects broke a exterior mirror on His/her vehicle that was parked at the King’s Daughters and Sons home located at 3568 Appling Rd.



The complainant who works at Exline’s Pizza located at 6250 Stage Rd. advised two M/B’s passed counterfeit $100 bills after placing a order.  The information has been turned over to the United States Secret Service.



Several businesses around the Bartlett Blvd/ Bartlett Road area reported a male black suspect, approx 5’10 with a slim build, came in and made small purchases with a $100 bill.  After he left the bill was found to be counterfeit.  Video is available at the Cato store.



A domestic disturbance was reported in the 3200 block of Broadway by the victim.  She advised that she and her ex boyfriend were arguing and she wanted him to leave and not come back.  Officers allowed him to get some of his belongings and gave him a criminal trespass warning for the residence.  After he left, it was determined that he took her cell phone.



A theft was reported on Ellis by the victim.  He advised that his grandson, who lives with him, has been stealing money from his wallet. 



An auto theft report was taken from the victim at HQ.  She advised that her estranged boyfriend took her rental car to move something and never brought it back.  The vehicle is a 2008 silver Mitsubishi pickup.



A burglary was reported on Grace View Lane by the builder.  He advised that someone broke into the residence and took a microwave.  Entry was made by breaking one of the rear windows. 



A disturbance was reported at 5688 Woodlawn ( BHS) when officers spoke to several juveniles who had been threatened by an male adult as they left the game.  After threatening them he got into a blue Expedition and started driving very erratically threw the lot.  According to several witnesses he nearly hit several people in the lot before he left E/B on Blackwell.



A theft was reported on Broadway by the victim.  She reported that a pair of earrings and approx 10 oxycodine pills were missing.  She recently had ServiceMaster in her home but was unsure of when the theft occurred and when she had seen the earrings last.



A civil matter was reported at HQ when the complainant reported that her  fiance’  sold her and car and is refusing to give her the title or the vehicle.  She has already paid him the asking price of $500.

On 10/9/08 a M/B described as having a dark complexion, 20-24 years old, 5’06”-5’07”, having a short haircut, no facial hair wearing long blue jean shorts, red T-shirt, red hat, and white tennis shoes entered the Sally’s Beauty Supply located at 5975 Stage Rd and purchased merchandise with a $5 bill altered to look like a $100 bill.  Scene officers found that a M/B described as tall (over 6’), dark complexion, with a short hair cut, wearing jeans and a white T-shirt attempted to purchase merchandise at a Cato’s store located in the area with a $5 bill altered to look like a $100 bill.  The Cato’s employee observed the tall M/B suspect exit a newer model black Chevy Impala with tinted Windows.



On 10/9/08 vandalism was reported at the Bartlett Senior Citizen’s Center located at 5727 Woodlawn where three flood lights were found to have been damaged and rendered inoperable.



On 10/9/08 the victim/complainant who lives in the 3200 block of Venson reported that he/she believes the biological parent of his/her child wrote on his/her vehicle a threatening message in an effort to intimidate him/her due to an upcoming court date regarding a violation of an order of protection.  Scene officers found that suspect has an active order of protection in force against him/her to prevent him/her from contacting the victim.



On 10/9/08 a shoplifting theft occurred at Wal-Mart located at 8400 Highway 64 where a known suspect stole a six pack of Coke and left the store passing all points of sale without paying.  The known suspect left with a second unidentified M/W in a silver Dodge Neon bearing temporary Tennessee tags.  The known suspect has been arrested by our agency for multiple thefts of Red Bull from area businesses.



On 10/8/08 a theft of a City of Bartlett trash can was reported stolen from 3008 Shade Tree Cv.


0810090023 Officer Sloan

The victim/complainant who lives in the 2900 block of Stage Park Place advised that she took her husband’s laptop computer to the suspect’s house who also lives in the 2900 block of Stage Park Place and forgot to take it home.  The next day the victim asked about the laptop and found the suspect had pawned it at EZ-Pawn located at 4751 Summer Ave.  When the victim confronted the suspect with the fact that the police were going to be called the suspect allegedly threatened the victim.  The laptop has been entered into NCIC as stolen.



On 10/9/08 the victim/complainant reported a Tennessee license plate was stolen from his/her vehicle.  The license plate was entered as stolen in NCIC.



On 10/9/08 officers responded to a disturbance/fight call in the 2900 block of Stage Rd where two families living on the street allege the other family attacked them.  The Bartlett Fire Department was called to the scene and examined the parties for minor injuries.  All parties declined transport to the hospital.

On 10/9/08 the victim/complainant reported that earlier in the day while at Bolton High School he/she provided five $20 bills as change for a $100 for a M/B he/she described as being tall.  The victim attempted to use the $100 bill at a business at Malco Plaza located at 2809 Bartlett Blvd and was told it was counterfeit.



On 10/10/08 officers responded to a welfare check in the 3500 block of Patricia Ellen and were met be the suspect who advanced towards them in a threatening manner with his fist raised.  The suspect was placed into custody.  Later in the day officers again responded to a disturbance in the 3500 block of Patricia Ellen and found that the complainant was confronted by her mother-in-law regarding the arrest of the suspect.  There were no allegations of an assault and the only person on the scene when officers arrived was the complainant.



On 10/09/08 officers responded to a disturbance in the 6200 block of Yale Rd between a ex-boyfriend/girlfriend over the ownership of a vehicle.  One of the parties produced a bill of sale that the other alleged was forged.  One of the parties agreed to let other have the vehicle as long as they moved out of their common residence and turned over the license plate to vehicle.



On 10/9/08 the complainant advised that a white Pontiac Grand Prix bearing TN license plate 881FVR was driving recklessly in the area of Rockbridge & Thornebrook.  The complainant advised this has been an ongoing problem.
