Cop's Corner with Captain Cupp

Captain David G. Cupp

Captain Cupp is the Traffic Division Commander for the Bartlett Police Department. Each week Captain Cupp will provide citizens of Bartlett with information useful to Bartlett residents concerning traffic and public safety and little known facts about the Bartlett Police Department.

This week's topic:
School Bus Safery Week

The week of October 18th is National School Bus Safety Week. Shelby County Schools will be out for Fall Break the week of the 18th so we will be participating in this event starting the week of the 11th here in Shelby County.

The Director of the Transportation Department for Shelby County Schools along with their Bus Drivers have compiled a list of dangerous bus stops where drivers fail to stop while buses are loading and unloading.

The Bartlett Police Department along with other agencies inside Shelby County will be out in force this week looking at these dangerous locations for any violations. Anyone receiving a citation for a TCA 55-8-151 violation must come to Court if the citation was received in Bartlett from a Bartlett Police Officer.

We need your help in making this a safe school year with no serious injuries to our kids.

Drive safely and contact me if you have questions or concerns regarding this or other Traffic Matters.
