Cop's Corner with Captain Cupp

Captain David G. Cupp

Captain Cupp is the Traffic Division Commander for the Bartlett Police Department. Each week Captain Cupp will provide citizens of Bartlett with information useful to Bartlett residents concerning traffic and public safety and little known facts about the Bartlett Police Department.

This week's topic:
Personal Safety

As you are probably aware the Holiday Season is rapidly approaching. Coming with this season is a heightened sense of personal safety. Not that you shouldn’t be mindful of this at all times there is an increased chance of you becoming a victim of a crime. By now you should be aware of the basics of personal safety and practice it daily.

This year, along with the basics, if we could include looking out for your neighbor’s safety our Holiday Season will be a happy occasion rather than a time of fear and disappointment. This includes looking out for one another while shopping and walking back and forth from our vehicles.

You know your neighborhood better than we do and also know when something is out of place around your neighbor’s home. So we will be counting on YOU to call us and report suspicious activity when you see it at 901-385-5555 or for Emergencies at 911.

Many, many times we hear from citizens these words “I hated to bother you or I know you’re busy”. This is exactly why we are here and what we are to do. So lets all get together and rid crime out of Bartlett.

As always if you have questions or comments of me just email me with your concerns
