Cop's Corner with Captain Cupp

Captain David G. Cupp

Captain Cupp is the Traffic Division Commander for the Bartlett Police Department.

Each week Captain Cupp will provide citizens of Bartlett with information useful to Bartlett residents concerning traffic and public safety and little known facts about the Bartlett Police Department.

The Topic this week is: The Vietnam Wall

June 3rd through June 5th a replica of The Vietnam Wall will be on display at 3700 North Germantown Road. The wall is ¾ size of the original Vietnam Wall located in Washington DC. The purpose of this traveling display is to pay our respects and remember those brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country’s freedom. The opening ceremony is scheduled Friday Morning at 9:00am with guest speakers and other events. The reading of the names on the wall will commence then and run until all names have been read ending Sunday Afternoon. 58,000 names will be read during this event.

Bartlett was chosen as one of only eight cities to house this event this year. I encourage all to come out and be a part of this solemn and emotional event honoring our hero’s. The closing ceremonies will be held Sunday Evening at 7:00pm. We are expecting several thousand people here for this event along with 3000 Motorcycles from the motorcycle group “Rolling Thunder” many of which are Vietnam Veterans.

You can learn more of this event at

Hope to see you there.
