RR crossing

MAY 4, UPDATE: The message boards have been delivered and the railroad work is planned to begin on May 17, at Ferguson crossing. This is earlier than we thought.
Here’s the information from CSX that they previously gave us. I assume all of this information hasn’t changed, as no updates were given except the earlier start date.
“They will be working North starting in Memphis and working towards Bartlett. They are working four ten hour days (Monday through Thursday). They normally get about one mile per day. They will lay one side of the rail, back up, lay the other side and then will tamp through it and repave it. I would plan on each crossing being closed for around 4 days. The project will last roughly 4-5 weeks.”

The City of Bartlett has received information that starting around May 18th 2022 CSX Railroad will be performing maintenance on their tracks through the City of Bartlett by replacing rails and crossings.  As part of that replacement, they will be replacing and installing new rails on the following crossings. This will require closure of these crossings in the City of Bartlett and the surrounding areas

Raleigh Lagrange

Yale Road

St Elmo

Oak Road

Brunswick Road

The project will begin at the Memphis CSX yard and extend north across the City ending beyond Brunswick Road. All crossings should not be closed at the same time but should be phased in from the south side of the City to the north side of the City. Detour signage where possible will be provided to minimize the delay.

This is the best information we have at this time and the City will update the website as more information is made available to us.  CSX and City of Bartlett thank you for your patience.
