Drawing Files

• Maintains all subdivision drawing files, including plats and as-builts
• Provides copies of drawings (fee)

Planning

• Updates Geographic Information System information as it relates to new subdivisions, roads, sewer, water
• Provides input to Planning Commission relating to new subdivisions and site plans
• Initiates all action to acquire utility easements and maintains record easement files

Sanitary Sewer

• Design Coordination
• Maintenance
• Treatment/Lagoons
• New sewer service connections (fees)

Storm Drainage

• Coordinates all storm drainage design with drainage basins/detention ponds
• Investigates individual drainage problems

Subdivisions

• Construction design review of incorporating road, sewer, water, grading and drainage
• Bond estimates
• Inspection of roads, sewer, water, grading, drainage
• Easements, including maintaining all files

Traffic/Roads

• Design coordination
• Develops annual paving plan
• Performs traffic studies/counts
• Investigates all traffic signal and traffic sign inquiries

Water

• Designs all new water systems
• Operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities and programs (see the Water Quality Report)
• New taps into the water system (fee)

Capital Improvement Project Management

As part of the above responsibilities, the department manages or monitors numerous capital improvement projects.
