David Parsons, the 21st Mayor of Bartlett, Tennessee, has deep roots in his hometown.  David was raised in Bartlett; he graduated from Bartlett High School and has lived there for most of his life.  He considers Bartlett his hometown and has always been passionate about serving his community.

David began his career as a bricklayer and eventually became a general contractor.  Over his 35-year career in contracting, he gained recognition at the local, state, and national levels as a leader in the industry. His contributions were honored in 2017 when he was inducted into the prestigious Building Industry of Tennessee Hall of Fame.

In 2002, David took his first step into public service by being elected as a Bartlett Alderman at large. During his tenure, he served in various capacities, including Vice Mayor, Chairman of the Board of Zoning Appeals, and as a member of numerous boards and commissions such as the Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference Center Advisory Board, the Contracts Committee, the Bartlett Industrial Development Board, Shelby County Board of Appeals, Bartlett Station Commission, Beer Board, Storm Water Board of Appeals, and was a Charter member of the Family Assistance Commission.

In November 2022, David Parsons was elected Mayor of Bartlett.  As mayor, he is known for being accessible and engaged, always encouraging communication and welcoming the concerns of Bartlett residents.  His focus is on uniting the community through prayer and fostering a culture of high standards and motivation.

Family plays a pivotal role in Mayor Parsons' life.  He has been married to his wife, Becky, for over 40 years.  Together, they have six sons and eleven grandchildren and are active members of Legacy Church of Bartlett.  Their shared commitment to family and community is evident in their involvement and dedication to Bartlett with a desire to create a thriving and united community.
