Water Production
Bartlett's water is extracted from an underground aquifer known as the Memphis Sands.
The City of Bartlett uses one standard type and three iron removal type water treatment plants to distribute water at a maximum capacity of 18 MGD. The ground storage capacity at the four water treatment plants is 5.2 million gallons.
Treatment generally consists of aeration, filtration and disinfection.
High service pumps transport the treated water through 350 miles of water mains to the distribution system. The distribution system consists of three pressure plains and nine elevated storage tanks, having a total capacity of 2.95 million gallons.
Water is ultimately distributed to approximately 19,000 connections, serving a population of around 50,000 residents.
