A Message from Chief JEFF COX
Welcome to the Bartlett Police Department’s web page. My name is Jeff Cox and I am honored to serve our community in the capacity of Chief of Police.
Departmental growth has been constant over the past few years with the number of commissioned officers now at 126, and we are growing! We have maintained high standards in testing and promotions; this fact has enabled us to further strengthen our favorable reputation as an excellent provider of police services within our community, continuing our accreditation through the Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation Program.
Homeland Security is a hot topic in law enforcement. Our efforts continually are directed toward community neighborhood watch programs and directed patrol to maintain a check of the heartbeat of our region.
The success of our department is derived from the relationship between our employees and the citizens that we serve. We are dedicated to the concept of community policing, ensuring a connection with our citizens, including taking reports on matters that may otherwise be deemed minor; we realize that to the victims, concerns are serious.
Regarding our Bartlett Police Department, much has been said of the high traffic enforcement in our city. We feel strongly that you and your family should feel safe driving on our streets and working and playing around your home, without the fear of speeding and reckless drivers. So, when you see one of our cars with a violator pulled over, remember we are enforcing traffic laws to protect you and your family. If a situation arises where you feel you were not treated fairly or less than professionally, you may certainly call my office and speak with one of the administrative staff members. But, in the same light, please feel free to contact us if you have a compliment on our department.
Please tour our entire website and visit the different divisions of our police department. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact me by email at Chief Jeff Cox.
