Who is eligible for assistance?: Any individual or family living within the City limits of Bartlett whose health, safety and general welfare may be endangered by their lack of resources is eligible for assistance. The Family Assistance Commission also uses the income guidelines set by the Shelby County Housing Rehabilitation Program to determine eligibility.

2. How can a citizen apply for assistance?: Print and fill out the assistance application or call (901) 385-6449 to request an application be mailed to you. Return the application to Penny Medlock, City Clerk, 6400 Stage Rd., Bartlett, TN 38134

3. What assistance is given to citizens in need?: The Family Assistance Commission works to match citizens’ needs with a governmental agency, non-profit charitable organization, a local church or private businesses. If other help is not found, the Family Assistance Commission can assist citizens with payments for goods and services.

4. Is cash given to people in need?: No. Cash is never distributed to citizens in need. Assistance may be given in the form of a check made out to the supplier of goods and services or the donation of a store gift card.
