Safety and Fire Prevention Tips

What is a Knox Box?

Do you have an elderly or handicapped person living in your home? Do you worry that they will not be able to get out of your house in the event of a fire? Or…. could they let us in…. in the event of a medical emergency?

If you are faced with such a scenario, I am sure you have asked yourself these questions many times. Well…here's a suggestion!

As you might guess, being able access your home quickly is the key to surviving a life threatening emergency. One way to speed up the process is with the installation of a residential Knox Box. This device mounts on the wall or over the door at your home and holds a key so we can access you home quickly.

When the fire department arrives, we can unlock the Knox Box, retrieve your house key and make entry. No broken doors, no broken glass, no need for the fire department to have to wait for a key holder to arrive before we can make entry and most importantly ....."No Wasted Time"!

We can get in….. take care of the problem……and then re-secure the house when the emergency is over.

Constructed of 1/4 inch steel, the box is virtually indestructible and only the Fire Department has the key to open the Knox Box.

If you have questions or would like more information on the Knox Box System for your home, please give us a call at 385-3322 or  email the Fire Marshall or Deputy Fire Marshall and we will be happy to help.
